I recently purchased a townhouse in Catonsville that needed a good bit of work. I selected Finney Brothers as the contractor to support my project because of their attention to detail from beginning to end. There was significant structural work required in the lower back because of the previous deck that was poorly installed.

Highlights of the project:
- Replace the roof, skylights, gutters, shutters, etc.
- Replace the deck, rebuild the back wall, install French door
- Replace the siding, old windows, tune up the front entrance
- Remodel two bathrooms
- Remove inoperable fireplace

There were a lot of moving parts. Finney coordinated and communicated well with me. The craftsmanship was great. I'm pleased with the outcome and am enjoying settling into my new home!

Although no actual family connection, I could not be more thrilled with the wonderful job Finney Brothers highly skilled team did in transforming a drafty, mold infested, scary, ‘sun’ room into the most pleasant room in the house. The team’s willingness to use anti microbial exterior products married with experience and craftsmanship created a beautifully finished room that will be a feature of the house for decades to come.

We contracted Finney Brothers Construction to perform the unique task of replacing three deteoriating and rotting support columns to our Linthicum home. We worked with Ben Finney to get a detailed estimate which included every facet of work required. Ben provided an expert crew who replaced these old columns with new, heavy duty, round, fiberglass columns. These new weight bearing columns are attractive, maintenance free replacements. The crew did an outstanding job with the post project cleanup. Finney Brothers is a family owned and operated company that treats its' customers like part of the family. We will definitely use them again if the opportunity presents itself.

Review #2 ( Jul 2026) - Just used Finney Brothers for a second project due to their high quality work on project last year. They converted my half bath to a full bath with full tiled shower, frameless door, and installed additional lighting. They expertly handled the wall extension and all the plumbing/electrical work. Ben, Pedro and team were extremely responsive throughout the process, answered all the questions, and consistently checked in to make sure we were happy. They are the only contractors I would continue to go back to for my home needs!

Review #1 (2025) Highly recommend Finney Brothers and will certainly use them again for future repairs and renovations! They've proven themselves as a trustworthy company and they have the expertise to do jobs the right way, regardless of how difficult it is. I had a structural concern with a sagging floor in a townhouse that has a truss flooring system which ultimately required jacking up the floor truss and sistering additional support to the truss. Ben quickly arranged a time to inspect and provide an estimate, discovering a contributing factor was a previous water leak with mold in the truss work. Despite the challenge, he explained structural repairs are their specialty and can handle the mold remediation and truss repair/reinforcement.

The team showed up on time every day and immediately got to work. They were all extremely professional and respecful. Multiple unforeseen complications came up due to the house design that required moving a significant amount of electric wiring, HVAC piping, and even the gas line to provide access for the required structural repair as they all ran through the affected trusses. The Finney Brothers team was committed to doing the job right and safely, used their in-house experts to handle the electric and gas lines, and took additional precautions to ensure no gas escaped into the house, along with ensuring our HVAC and critical systems were quickly brought back online. While jacking up the truss back into position, they also had someone watch from the top to ensure they didn't go too far and cause any damage.

In the end, the structural integrity of the floor was restored (actually stronger now), electric, gas, and HVAC piping all restored and up to code, and the drywall repaired. They ended up having to add a vertical 6x6 support column into the wall, but with the way they replaced the drywall you would never know it was there. They checked in with me before tackling each challenge to make sure I approved, and Ben checked in after completion to make sure everything was done to my liking.

Finney Brothers were fantastic to work with. We had a very complex repair that involved identifying the source of a number of external leaks, external repairs to decking, siding, and membrane replacement, and internal repairs for failing load bearing beams. Ben and his team were thorough in planning and execution and took the time to walk through everything with us in detail. His foreman Pedro and his crew were professional, courteous, and kind. It takes a lot to trust someone with major repairs to your home - we would trust Finney Brothers to do any repair big or small - it was clear they cared about our family and our home.

I’ve used Finney Brothers on a couple different properties now and they’ve been great to work with. They replaced the roof and siding at one of my Airbnbs, and they also built a deck and hog wire fence at another one.

The work came out excellent both times. You can tell they actually care about the details and doing things the right way, which is hard to find. Everything was clean, solid, and exactly what I was hoping for.

I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have work done, whether it’s on a rental, investment property, or your own home. I won’t be using anyone else.

I had a time sensitive problem and they were the only contractor willing and able to work within the time constraints and despite the speed I needed, they made sure to do the job right rather than just fast (a quick fix was suggested by someone else but it would have caused problems later). Strongly recommend.

High‑quality work at a reasonable price. I’m remodeling my home for a refinance loan, and working with the Finney Brothers and their team was easily the best part of the entire process. They’re a true throwback to the home‑improvement pros of the past—honest, skilled, and reliable.

My family and I were treated fairly from start to finish. Because they focus on doing the right work at the right price, it took a little time to get on their schedule, but once they arrived, it was absolutely worth the wait.
